A.K. AGIKAMIKFamed Chief of the YoYo Islands. He visits camp once a year along with bodyguards, Ug and Mug.
AMODAssistant Man On Duty in each Village.
ANNEXCabin in Axeman Village (can be either Axeman or Lumberjack cabin).
AXEMAN VILLAGESecond oldest camper village located west of Lower Diamond.
BIG HOUSEMain lodge which houses the office, lounge rooms, the MOCA project, the Trip Room and our photography darkroom. First floor open to all.
CANDY LINEConducted after lunch. Each camper may buy one candy item three times a week.
CHANGEOVER DAYDay between the first and second sessions–fun & frolic for eight weekers.
CNOCShort for the "Camp Nebagamon Outing Club." This is where campers learn their wilderness tripping skills.
COFFINA place to put bagged non-food garbage.
CRUISER DAYEvery Wednesday there is a a special activity day for cabins or villages including picnic lunches and a trip to Dairy Queen.
CQCharge of Quarters. Staff takes turns covering the Big House and office from 9:30 p.m. to midnight.
DAY PUSHEach day a camper volunteers to be Officer of the Day. He rings the bells to keep camp on schedule and helps out in the Big House during rest hour.
DEACON SEATBench next to microphone for those who have announcements to make.
FAMILY CAMPA week after the campers leave in August when families, singles, alumni, and friends get to enjoy camp.
F.B.I.Fabulous Bodies, Inc. Voluntary membership for those who want to lose weight. Members who sign up get healthier substitutes for rich desserts and participate in an exercise program.
FLOATERSSomeone in need of a place to sit at a meal.
FOLLIESFinal all camp show–production with lights, stage, etc.
GABBERCOMLumberjack term for work committee. Time after dinner for meetings, special groups, or laundry pick-up. Camp store is usually open.
G SWIMFree (non-instructional) swim and waterfront time in late afternoon.
GRUNDY UNDYLaundry Shack at back of Logger 5.
GTCGood Time Charlie–all camp variety show.
HERB'S MUSEUMMuseum of Logging, named for beloved former caretaker Herb Hollinger, located just west of Lumberjack cabins. Also used for meetings and recreation.
THE HILLUsually refers to Swamper Village and Big House area.
HODAGName of a Lumberjack cabin. Historically, the name of the camp that campers too old for Nebagamon built in Gordon, Wisconsin now called "Camp Bovey" and owned by the East Side Neighborhood Service.
HORSE 'N' GOGGLEThrowing fingers to determine who wins an extra dessert, does an extra job, etc. Ask someone how to do it.
HOWWe say "How" most times instead of clapping.
JOPBathroom and shower house. Was named after a former camper from Joplin, Missouri who spent a good bit of his summer in this building.

KO-Z KORNERBuilding on Waterfront Road just outside camp gate, used for staff leisure time.
K.P.Person who fetches food at mealtimes and clears the table. Campers take turns. There is also usually an Assistant KP (AKP) who sweeps, and stacks dishes for KP to clear from table.
LITTLE HOUSEWhere the camp directors live, just down the hill from the Big House.
LOGGER VILLAGESecond youngest village located north of Rec Hall.

Many meetings are held here.
LORBERHAUSCabin co-owned by the founders' daughters Sally Stein and Ruth Rosen on Waterfront Road.
LORBER POINTNamed for camp's founders, Muggs and Janet Lorber, and used as a meeting and meditation area. Located west of LJ tennis courts.
LOWER DIAMONDPlaying field just west of main tennis courts.
LUMBERJACK VILLAGE   Oldest camper village. Located on the waterfront.
LJ POINT FIVEUsually a cabin in the Lumberjack Village just south of Rec Hall.
MAN ON DUTY (MOD)Counselors assigned to village supervision and duties for the day.
ORIENTEERINGProject where map and compass work is taught as well as geo-caching. Also an Olympic sport.
PAUL BUNYAN DAYCampers are divided into four teams with Boss Loggers, Foremen and many Bushwhackers competing in athletic and camping skills.
PROXIMITY CONTROL"PC" is monitoring behavior by the counselors.
PIONEER POSTHeadquarters for CNOC located between the Shrine and Craft Shop.
PARENT LETTERS"PL's" are counselors' reports to parents about their children's summer.
POST CAMPSee Family Camp.
PUSHVillage Director who oversees the counselors and campers in a village.
PUSH SHACKVillage Headquarters.
Q'S CORNERStaff housing on Waterfront Road named for long-time Program Director, Frank Sachs.
RANGEWhere staff families and specialist staff live, located beyond the Rifle Range. Also called Homes on the Range.
REC HALLDining and recreation hall.
RINDE BALLRoof Ball. Named after a long-time Push. Ask how to play.
SCHRAMMINGFormer counselor, Schram, became a verb connoting walking around the Rec Hall during a meal talking to anyone who will talk with you. Don't do it.
SHRINENamed after a former camper, Chuck Hirsch, who chose to spend his final summer at camp. This is where our Sunday Services are held (a speech given by a staff member on a topic important to him or her.)
SINGLE STANDARDWhat's right for one is right for all. Camp has one standard of conduct and behavior which rules for ALL.
SPECIALIST ON DUTY

Staff member, without cabin duty, who is over 21 years of age to be called upon for driving to town if needed.
STEINHAUSHouse next to Lorberhaus, owned by camp's former directors Sally and Nardie Stein.
SWAMPERThe youngest camper village. Located on The Hill.
TAPSBugle call for lights out.
THROCKNinth-grade cabin, located southwest of Rec Hall.
VILLAGE RETREATA whole village meeting of campers, staff, and village director. Traditionally takes place before a Council Fire.
VOYAGEURNinth-grade cabin, located next to LJ courts and Herb's Museum.
WALDORF CASTORIACamp health center, located northwest of the Big House.
WANEGANCamp Store and small group meeting area. Located between the Big House and Waldorf.
WEYERHAEUSERNinth-grade cabin, located by LJ basketball court.
WIDOW MAKERA branch hanging precariously ready to fall on someone's head. Report it to caretakers or directors.
