For Staff

Thanks for visiting our website and for your interest in working on the Camp Nebagamon staff. Whether you're entirely new to our camp or a former camper who has an interest in returning to CN in a new capacity, we're glad you've decided to consider joining our team. As we oftentimes tell prospective parents, we believe the staff is the most important attribute of any camp; this being the case, at Nebagamon we work diligently to recruit new employees who will live up to our high standards and who will further enhance the reputation of our staff, and in turn our camp.

In this section of the website we'd like to share with you some of the characteristics we seek in prospective staff members. In the sections that follow, we describe our hiring process, answer some frequently asked questions and offer a handful of testimonials from current and former staff members.

Depending on the job for which you are interested in applying, the duties you would be asked to perform vary greatly. For example, some members of our staff live in cabins with 8-12 campers and a co-counselor, and teach skills like sailing, tennis, or archery at our in-camp projects; others spend over 40 days on the trail each summer leading wilderness trips; still others work in our kitchen and help to prepare as many as 1,000 meals in a day.

Although the specific responsibilities of our various staff members differ, we expect all of them to possess many of the same qualities. Specifically, we're seeking hard working, trustworthy, and caring men and women who demonstrate a desire to work with, teach, and have fun with our campers. Moreover, we want to work alongside people who embrace the values of our community, including those of tolerance, respect, and kindness. For those willing to put forth the effort, working at Camp Nebagamon can be an incredibly rewarding experience, one that they may never forget.
